What I don't want to forget about Theo's first 6 months:
How he made his grand entrance 2 weeks late, placenta kaput. He wasn't coming out until he was good and ready. Even then he knew what he wanted and could not be convinced otherwise.
His crazy cone head, as long and thin as a "tall" Starbucks coffee cup.
His delicious newborn aroma.
The snorting sounds he made as he slept when he was first born.
How soft the palms of his hands are and how they feel as they gently touch my hand as he nurses.
The unbelievable rush the first time he looked at me and smiled.
How interested and alert he has been since the moment he was born.
That taking him outside immediately calms him.
The way his soft hair looks like a fluffy chick in the front, especially when freshly washed.
The crazy curl at the crown of his head, twice as long as any other hair.
Checking everyday as his eye color keeps morphing. We still don't know what they will be.
His love of his homemade mobile over his changing table, his favorite place to be for the first 3 months.
How hysterical he found the light over the dining table.
His impressive physical capabilities: able to hold his head up from birth, wanted to stand VERY early and could hold some of his weight, rolled over at 14 weeks!
How happy bouncing makes him.
Mostly I want to remember how happy he has made us, how excited we are to see who he becomes as he learns and grows and explores. And how much we love him.
